One of these day’s I’m going to write Angel’s story, as it’s quite interesting, but for now I just have to post these pictures. Angel is our female cat. She’s about 18 months old, and she’s got some neurological problems that prevent her from walking straight. Because it’s so hard for her to get around, she tends to spend most of the day sleeping in the same spot. Also, because her mother abandoned her very early (probably because of her problems), she never learned the basic cat grooming skills. She’s messy!

As you can see in the first picture, she is a very long-haired cat. She’s strikingly pretty in fact. But the lack of grooming means that her fur becomes a horrible mess. We try to brush her, but it needs to be a daily task and I’m afraid we don’t have the time to do it that often.

Sadly, the end result is displayed in the photo below. Yes, we had to have her shaved! She was quite a good sport about the whole thing, and we eventually got over the urge to laugh every time we saw her.

This time we’re really going to brush her as often as it takes to keep her fur nice and clean. Sorry Angel!
